Let's face it, Vikram doesn't have any
musical talent. This page is 100% unadulterated self-indulgence.
Proceed at your own risk.

Musical Collages (circa 2008):
Hear these first - they're kind of clubby or
corny or groovy (depending on your musical taste or degree of
inebriation)
The collages above were 'assembled' (there's really no other word) in GarageBand on a Mac using the 'loops' that come free with
the software. Each one took a couple of hours. Kinda
impressive, no?
Original Piano Composition
(circa 2007):
A 9-minute+ tour-de-force:
Cougar Hills Rag
This original composition was composed by
Vikram on
a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano with a little help from Sonar Home
Studio 4 software running on a laptop.
Experiments in Midi (circa 2006-2007):
If Vikram had talent, these origianl compositions
would be called Etudes (as in 'studies'). Since he has no
talent, let's call them ... uhm.... 'accidents':
All the above compositions were composed and
performed on a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano - the resulting
midi tracks were then copied to a laptop, 'cleaned' up in Sonar
Home Studio 4 and replayed and recorded through a laptop.
Instrumentals and Songs (circa 1999-2001)
Original songs and instrumentals on real
instruments! During this phase of his musical non-career, Vikram wrote the lyrics for all these songs, composed
all the music, played all the musical
instruments, sang the songs, and recorded
it all in his closet home studio on a
multi-track recorder. Considering
that Vikram is entirely self-taught in all aspects of
music and recording - (showing, in fact,
no aptitude for or interest in music till the day he saw Michael
J. Fox hamming it to 'Johnny B. Goode' in the movie "Back to the
Future", which episode fundamentally inspired him to pick up a
guitar) - this goes a long way in explaining why he's currently not a
pop sensation and unlikely to ever become one... :) .
