Vikram created his first version of Tetris (brilliantly titled 'VikTRIS' :) ) in the early 90's, motivated by the prospect of unemployment and hunger (in other words, during his 'starving artist' phase). Vikram desperately wanted to work in the Software Industry but had no way to prove his abilities than to create a very impressive game from scratch. In addition to being a very popular shareware game, VikTRIS was also directly responsible for landing Vikram his first two software jobs.
