Stevenson Elementary School Mural - Bellevue, WA - Designed by Kids!
I was commissioned to create a mural for the Stevenson Elementary School in Bellevue WA, for permanent installation in their new school buidling.
The mural would be based on 'alebrijes' (Spirit Animals) drawn by third-graders. Each student was asked to pick an animal and draw/decorate it in their own personal way.(See their drawings at the end of this page)
I then took the drawings and designed, planned, and painted this 6 foot high x 12 foot wide mural on plywood. The entire process took almost 7 months of work. Many thanks to the Stevenson Art Teacher, Aimee Eggink, and the Stevenson Principal, Anissa Bashey, for making this project happen.
