Some of the fabulous stories written by middle-schoolers based on my paintings.

'The Lost Tales of Ixi & Mup' brings together a series of my original paintings in book form, accompanied with captions to help readers develop their own stories about the paintings.

The genesis of this project lies in an experiment I have been running with Seattle-area elementary and middle schools teachers, wherein teachers take prints of my paintings and use them as creative-writing, story-telling, art-inspiration and classroom-discussion prompts.

​These experiments have been highly successful in sparking kids' creativity and getting them engaged with art, story-telling, and writing. For example, here is a photo of some of the hundreds of stories kids have created based on my paintings:
